Osavul, Ukrainian information security company, announced a $1 million funding round led by SMRK VC fund, Ukrainian venture capital fund. Osavul develops AI-based software to protect states, businesses, and society from information threats such as disinformation, information operations, foreign information manipulation and interference.
The rise of generative AI in 2023 has made it easier and more affordable for malicious actors to conduct information operations, making it all the more important to develop cutting-edge security technologies and empower security professionals with them to analyze and counter such threats.
"We are thrilled to have SMRK fund as our partner in this journey," said Osavul's CEO Dmytro Plieshakov. "Their expertise and resources will be invaluable as we continue to develop innovative solutions to help protect democratic societies from the growing disinformation threats."
“Osavul is founded by an exceptional team with a deep understanding of AI technology from both engineering and business perspectives.” shared Vlad Tislenko, partner at SMRK VC. “We are honored to take part in their new endeavor.”
Osavul's AI-based solutions use advanced algorithms, machine learning techniques, and Large Language Models, helping users to identify and counteract disinformation campaigns, information operations, and other forms of malicious activity.
Osavul emerged as a response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The technology was already deployed and successfully used by various security institutions in Ukraine to counter Russian disinformation.
With this latest funding round, Osavul plans to improve the current technology and enter the international market to assist democratic societies in protecting their states, businesses, and people from growing threats.
